Melton and Janice Birmingham

Janice M. Bryant and Melton S. (Smitty) Birmingham were married on April 6, 1957 at Caldwell Memorial Presbyterian Church in Charlotte N.C.

"Smitty" had just returned from serving 2 years in the U.S. Army in Gelnhausen, Germany and they met in history class at Charlotte College and have made history ever since. They have three sons and their families, Mark A. (Patricia), Grant, Fla., David M., Fernley, NV and Stephen E. (Penny), Moorpark, Calif., and four grand children.

During their life together, they have lived in N.C., Ga., and S.C. ending up in Simi Valley in June, 1976. Jan was a homemaker, who returned to school, after the sons were grown, to become a respiratory therapist. After 45 years in the dyestuff and chemical industry, "Smitty" retired December 31, 2001. They have traveled most of the USA, and extensively in Europe and the Mediterranean areas.

They were given a surprise dinner party by their sons and families at Steve's home in Moorpark and then a real surprise from their family, a cruise around the Hawaiian Islands.

David and Tracy Platt

David Platt and Tracy Autio-Platt celebrated their fifteenth wedding anniversary on May first! They met while studying for the CPA exam and married in Kauai in 1992.

Tracy graduated from Los Angeles Baptist High School and is a 1989 graduate of CSUNÕs School of Business and Economics. She earned her CPA license while working at Deloitte & Touche and is an accounting manager at Naryx Pharma. She has taken belly dance classes from a master instructor for ten years.

Dave graduated from Simi Valley High School and is a 1989 graduate of CSUN's School of Business and Economics. He earned his CPA license while working at Ernst & Young and an MBA in 2003 from UCLA's Anderson School of Management. He is a project manager in Amgen's Clinical Data Operations department and enjoys flying his Pitts S2B in aerobatic competitions.

They reside in Oxnard and share their home with two cats.
